INSTALLATION:

Cut and paste the texture file, "texture.x", into your b757_200r aircraft folder. Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\aircraft\b757_200r. ("x" being the variable assigned to the texture) Then, edit the "Aircraft.cfg" to add this header to the aircraft list:

description=El Al Israel Airlines Boeing 757-200, Roll-out colors.\nBoeing launched development of the 757 in March 1979 following orders from British Airways and Eastern Airlines. Developed in tandem with the larger widebody 767, the two share a number of systems and technologies, including an early generation EFIS flightdeck. After almost three years in development, the Boeing 757-200 first soared to the air on February 19th, 1982. Eastern took delivery of the first Boieng 757-200 on December 22nd, 1982, and then entered it into service on January 1st, 1983.\nGMAX model by Mike Stone.\nTextures by Kevin Sparkuhl.

(remember to assign the "x" variable!)

Also, the original aircraft.cfg had an error in the "General" section that did not allow ATC to correctly identify the 757. Here is a new "General" Section, with the correction and now has performance specs as well. Copy and paste this section to replace the old one. Enjoy!

Edit the aircraft.cfg to include the following:

[General]
atc_type=BOEING
atc_model=B752

performance=Max cruising speed 493kts (914km/h), economical cruising speed 460kts (850km/h). \n\nRange with P&W engines and 186 passengers 2728nm (5053km), with RR engines 2569nm (4758km). \n\nRange at optional max takeoff weight with P&W engines 3929nm (7277km), with RR engines 3719nm (6888km). \n\n757-200PF - Speeds same. \n\nRange with maximum payload and P&W engines 3885nm (7195km), with RR engines 3700nm (6857km).

VORTEX EFFECT:

Use keypad "I" to turn vortex effect on and off.

For the Vortex effect, cut and paste the effect files "fx_WingVortex.fx" to your 2002 effects folder. Path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\effects. Then, add this entry anywhere into your b757_200 "Aircraft.cfg" file:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=90.0,-27.3,-48.0, fx_WingVortex
smoke.1=90.0,-27.3,48.0, fx_WingVortex

Okay, here's the skinny on the new vortex effect. I stumbled onto this effect through Project Airbus's new A320 release, and other's are adding this effect to their aircraft as well, so why not Mike Stone's 757 also, right? Project Airbus's release also includes an invisible .gau file that turns the vortex (smokesystem) effect on and off at approx. 150 to 175 kias, which is accurate for this effect. However, this invisible .gau file sometimes has an adverse effect on panel performance, affecting the Heading bug and Altitude settings, allowing adjustment by the tens and hundreds respectively. So, here's the easy way around it and being able to still enjoy it...

You don't need to have the invisible .gau file in order to enjoy this effect. I've decided to include the vortices effect and you can decide how and when you want to run it, okay? You can turn it on and off at will by using keypad "I" just like you'd normally turn on and off the smokesystem... whenever you want. I just think it looks pretty cool! Don't you? : )

Okay, got it? Have fun and enjoy!!
